How does the Gnome Auction Work?
The Gnome Auction is simple! As the Colchester Garden Festival has now come to an end for this year, Our Colchester BID are left with multiple gnomes in need of a new home.
To provide back to the community, whilst also raising funds and awareness of the Colchester Community Fund, the BID would like to auction each gnome to raise funds and ensure the gnome are sent to a loving home.

The Gnome Auction will be open between 1st September 2023 and 22nd September Choose your favourite Gnome
- Complete the Google Form with contact details
- Enter your bid in the Google Form
- After 22nd Sept, look out for an email to see if you're a winner!
- Collect your gnome from the Our Colchester BID office
About the Gnomes
If you didn't have a chance to visit Colchester City Centre during the Colchester Garden Festival, then you may not have seen our fabulous hand painted gnomes! We have eight gnomes available for adoption, and you can see them all on our Gnome Trail! 🏡

1. What is the starting price of a Colchester Garden Festival gnome?
As we are raising money for the Colchester Community Fund, the starting price for each gnome is £30.
2. How long is the auction running for?
The auction will be live from 1st September until 22nd September at 12:00pm. Winners will then be contacted the following week with further information about collection.
3. What is the Colchester Community Fund?
"The fund will provide up to £300 in funding to help you bring your idea to life, you could be celebrating your organisations anniversary, celebrating your amazing volunteers, celebrating a local hero, celebrating cultures or celebrating a historic event or much more". 4. How do I collect my gnome?
If you are one of our lucky winners, Our Colchester BID will contact you following the auction closure with further details about collecting your gnome. Feel free to send us photos of your gnomes in their new home by tagging @InColchester so that we can share!
5. How do I pay for my gnome?
Once the auction has closed and we've confirmed the lucky winners, we'll contact you with information regarding payments methods and the final amount owed.
