On the 17th of September 2023 a new and exciting event will be racing to Colchester High Street, and you can be part of it!

The Colchester Soapbox Rally will see thousands of visitors to the city centre and handmade soapbox karts going head-to-head in time trials along the High Street. Entrants will face ramps, obstacles, and some surprises along the way to claiming that number 1 spot.

Entries for the Soapbox Rally will open on the 14th of March 2023 and will required a draft of the kart you would like to enter. So now is your time to get creative and think about your soapbox!

You will be able to enter your soapbox via InColchester.co.uk/soapbox-rally and there is a £75 entry fee. There is a discount if you are an Our Colchester BID Member, make sure to get in contact with the BID team for the discount code.

Spectating on the day is free, and there will be additional spots around the city centre for you to get glimpses of the Soapboxes before they race, stalls and more.

Sam Good, Manager of Our Colchester BID says “We’re really excited to be delivering the Soapbox Rally for Colchester. It’s bound to be an extremely fun day for everyone taking part and we’d love to see your soapbox designs. There will be guidelines in place of what can and can’t be entered so make sure to read these before entering your soapbox.

There are limited spaces for the Soapbox Rally so if you want to get involved, please make sure you enter as soon as possible. Once the spaces are gone, they are gone!”

Entries open on Tuesday 14th of March 2023.
