HOW TO GET INTO COLCHESTER
Getting to Colchester City centre is easy! You can walk, use the bus or the Park and Ride, use our car parks or cycle. Here is a map of Colchester City centre to help you find your way around!
Colchester City centre is quite compact and, distance-wise, most central locations are easily reached on foot. We are situated on a hill though, so there are some slopes, including on the south side, to/from the nearby Colchester Town railway station and the Osborne St bus/coach station. The lift at Vineyard St car park can provide a useful go-between. If you are interested in walking for leisure, or in longer walking routes from the outskirts of town into the centre, you might enjoy the Colchester Orbital.
There are plenty of great routes into the town centre, including many off-road that you may not know about. You can find most of them on the Colchester Cycling Map or on the Cycle Colchester Website
And there's also plenty of bike parking when you're in the town centre. The map on the right shows these (the blue parking sign) or you can CLICK HERE for more cycle route and parking information.
We have a number of bus stops in the town centre making it easy to hop on and off the bus! Most local routes will pass through the City centre. Get more information on buses by clicking here.
