Entries open for Colchester Soapbox Rally 2024
Are you ready to take to the track, go head-to-head and claim that number one spot in front of thousands of spectators? Applications are now open for Colchester Soapbox Rally. The event returns to the city centre on Sunday 15th September 2024.
Last year the rally brought together 300 participants, 48 non-motorised, handmade contraptions and more than 8000 visitors across the city. Nigel Lampiere, CEO and Tony Smith, COO of TECNIQ shared their thoughts on their team’s 2023 win.
“We were very proud to be part of last year’s Colchester Soap Box Rally. A very well-organised and fun event and a great opportunity for our engineering apprentices, who designed, built and ran the karts, taking first and second on the day. A fantastic local event to be involved in.”
This city-centre spectacle is about much more than just time trials. In 2023 we saw flying fish, chariots, dinosaurs, minions and more. Costumes and performance are all part of the fun, and the array of awards this year will recognise creativity and flair as well as speed.
