As well as their lux­u­ry choco­late, which includes bars made with some of the rarest cocoa on the plan­et, you’ll find cocoa-infused gin, beer and vod­ka, and a range of sweet and savoury condi­ments includ­ing jams, chut­neys, oils and sauces. You can also set down your shop­ping bags and take a weight off at the café, over a range of drinks such as hot choco­lates, Cof­fee Choco­lat Lattes and teao­lat – an all-nat­ur­al blend of herbs, spices and cacao shells – as well as snacks includ­ing cocoa nib ice cream and irre­sistible brown­ies. Three Wise Mon­keys is a mod­ern style Pub­lic House split over 4 floors in the heart of Colch­ester. The ground floor is a large Tap House serv­ing a huge range of qual­i­ty beers from both keg and cask. We also have a great selec­tion of spir­its, unique cock­tails, wines and cof­fee. The first floor hous­es a spa­cious pub­lic bar and kitchen. Food is served through­out the day with a pas­sion­ate focus on slow-cooked, smoked Amer­i­can-style bar­be­cue food and gourmet burg­ers. The sec­ond floor is a live music and club night/​dancing venue that dou­bles as a large pri­vate func­tion room. Small Talk is an old fash­ioned tea shop sit­u­at­ed in the cen­tre of his­toric Chelms­ford, with a sec­ond branch now open in his­toric Colchester.

It is a small fam­i­ly run busi­ness pro­vid­ing fresh Eng­lish sea­son­al food, sourced as local­ly as pos­si­ble, made on the premis­es and served by our friend­ly staff.

We spe­cialise in an exten­sive range of loose tea from all around the world but we also sell cof­fee, break­fast, light lunch­es, fresh­ly baked cakes and scones as well as a tra­di­tion­al After­noon Tea served on tiered cake stands.

The chef, Michael Samuel has over 20 years expe­ri­ence of work­ing in the cater­ing indus­try and per­son­al­ly pre­pares and cooks all the food on dai­ly basis. Moni­ka, keeps her eyes on the busi­ness pro­vid­ing Michael, with a per­fect 2^nd in com­mand. Her artis­tic abil­i­ty adds all the per­son­al touch­es which is what makes this place so spe­cial. She planned and designed the lay­out of both shops and select­ed each item of fur­ni­ture and all of the orna­ments to cre­ate a unique vis­i­tor expe­ri­ence. Togeth­er, Michael and Moni­ka aim to pro­vide good qual­i­ty food served in a relaxed, charm­ing atmos­phere pre­sent­ed by staff who care about you…
