Man­n’s is one of the old­est music shops in Great Britain, and pos­si­bly the world, under the same ownership.

It’s cur­rent­ly run by Tim Mann, the great great grand­son of the founder. They moved to their cur­rent loca­tion in 1891 and have been there ever since. They retailed the first iron framed pianos before the first world war for less than half the cost of a mod­ern day tuning!

Three Wise Mon­keys is a mod­ern style Pub­lic House split over 4 floors in the heart of Colch­ester. The ground floor is a large Tap House serv­ing a huge range of qual­i­ty beers from both keg and cask. We also have a great selec­tion of spir­its, unique cock­tails, wines and cof­fee. The first floor hous­es a spa­cious pub­lic bar and kitchen. Food is served through­out the day with a pas­sion­ate focus on slow-cooked, smoked Amer­i­can-style bar­be­cue food and gourmet burg­ers. Sit­u­at­ed on the main high street of Colch­ester the venue build­ing dates back to 1905 when it was the Grand Palace of Vari­eties some­thing of which is tried to kept alive today with a Grand Vari­ety of dif­fer­ent rooms of enter­tain­ment. Today the beau­ti­ful and orig­i­nal ornate ceil­ing and bal­conies are still on full view for all to admire and com­plete­ly enhanced by our state of the art light­ing and laser sys­tems a tru­ly amaz­ing site to see.
