Christmas In Colchester - Light Switch On Parade

Our Colchester Business Improvement District proudly presents its Annual Christmas Light Switch On Event.

Come along to the City Centre and revel in the festivities this Christmas In Colchester.

This years event is on Saturday 22nd November 2025.

Its all about the community this year as we have 900 participants from local community groups ready to display their festive spirit for you.

The parade will commence from 5pm from Mercury Theatre who have brilliantly brought the choreography of the parade together.

As the parade passes through the High Street the lights will illuminate marking the start of Christmas for Colchester. The parade will continue onto Firstsite.

Please join us throughout the day to explore the City. Enjoy the offerings from purchasing those early Christmas presents, a family meal before the festive diary gets booked up to quickly.
