Mini Museum Explorers

Colchester Natural History Museum
High St, Colchester CO1 1DN, UK
December 15, 2026
10:00 AM

Sessions take place on 15 December, 10–11am and 11:15am–12:15pm.

Designed for children aged 2½ to 5, these relaxed, hands-on sessions give you the chance to explore the museum together through play. Join your child as they discover science and history side by side, with plenty of opportunities to get involved, make, and learn together at the Natural History Museum.

For our final Mini Museum Explorers of 2026, we’re heading into the Ice Age. Wrap up warm and set off on a journey from giant woolly mammoths to the remarkable animals of the Antarctic, brought to life through craft, storytelling and imaginative play. It’s a fun, engaging way to spark curiosity while spending quality time together.

KS1 home educators are welcome at the 11:15 session. Sessions are designed for children and their carers, creating a relaxed, small-group experience, so they aren’t suitable for larger nursery groups, but we’d be happy to arrange a dedicated session for you on request.
