August 7, 2026
11:00 AM

Join us at Colchester Castle from Monday 27 July to Friday 21 August, with tours running every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 11.00am to 11.40am, for a family adventure inspired by the Moon.

Tying in with the spectacular Museum of the Moon by Luke Jerram, on display inside the Castle, these special tours explore the myths, legends and superstitions people have shared about the Moon throughout history.

Led by our friendly guides, this experience is designed especially for younger visitors, explore the castle and discover facts about the moon, ancient superstitions and gods it inspired . Expect engaging tales, curious traditions and plenty of imagination, all delivered in a relaxed and welcoming environment for children aged 3+ and their grown-ups.

Our tour will go through areas with uneven flooring, low archways and uneven stairs with no lift access. For useful information, such as how to find us and what facilities Colchester Castle has, we recommend reading our Access information: Access at the Castle.
