Join us from 30 July to 21 August, with sessions running every Thursday and Friday at 10.30am for 1.5 hours, for a fun‑filled space adventure for young explorers.
Inspired by the Museum of the Moon, this holiday club offers a different mix of activities each week, from creative crafts and quizzes to games, guided exploring around the museum and mini tours. It’s a lively, hands-on way for children to discover history through a cosmic lens.
Week 1 (30th & 31st July) : Moons and planets
Week 2 (6th & 7th August) : Astronauts and space travel
Week 3 (13th & 14th August) : Ancient Astronomy
Week 4 (20th & 21st August) : Mysteries of Space
Designed for curious minds aged 5–10, each session gives children the chance to learn, play and get stuck into something new, with a different mix of activities each week to keep things fresh across the summer.
Children must be accompanied by an adult (maximum two adults per child). While children enjoy their cosmic adventure, grown-ups can relax with complimentary tea and coffee, and children will be offered squash during the session. For further information, please read our FAQ page.

£10 per child, £1 per adult. Please note Castle admission is not included and must be purchased separately.
Annual Museums Pass holders can enjoy a discounted child ticket price of £8. If you have not received a discount code, please contact Colchester Castle on 01206 282939 with your pass number and we’ll be happy to provide one for online booking.
If you’re planning to attend multiple events throughout the year, an Annual Museums Pass offers excellent value. It costs the same as one Castle visit plus one Hollytrees visit but gives you unlimited entry to all three museums for 12 months.
