CROWN JEWELS REPLICA AT LION WALK SHOPPING CENTRE

Discover the sparkling and spectacular replica Crown Jewels on display at Lion Walk Shopping Centre. You'll find a treasure trove of replica crowns, and accessories used in the hit Netflix series The Crown along with some fun photo opportunities.
This installation is completely free to visit and is open throughout the month of May. It's not one to be missed so make sure you plan a visit the next time you're in town!
TEA AT THE GEORGE - PLATINUM JUBILEE AFTERNOON TEA

Enjoy a delicious Platinum Jubilee themed Afternoon Tea served at Tea at The George throughout June. With a specially created menu in a beautiful tea room in the heart of Colchester there's no better way to celebrate the bank holiday weekend and historic jubilee with friends and family.
Plus they do a 'little persons' menu so you can bring the kids along to enjoy the fun too!
Booking is essential as all afternoon teas are made to order and can be adjusted to dietary requirements.
VICTORIA YUM CUPCAKE DECORATING CLASS

Want to have some fun making your cakes before eating them? Why not book onto the special Jubilee themed Cake Decorating class at Victoria Yum!
You'll learn how to decorate your own cupcakes with all thing jubilee themed and when you've finished your masterpieces you can take them home with you. The class is £35 pp and include a drink on arrival

CEREMONIAL BEACON LIGHTING IN THE PARK

Part of the series of events happening throughout the day in the park the Mayor will be making a speak to mark the Jubilee which will then be followed by the lighting of the beacon (near the bandstand) that is only lit during very special celebrations. This is a free event with no need to book and an exciting way to end your day.
JUBILEE DAY AT THE MERCURY THEATRE

Join Panto superstars Anthony Stewart Hicks and Dale Superville at the Mercury Theatre Jubilee day. A completely free day packed full of events for the whole family. No need to book either so it's the perfect day to drop into town and celebrate with friends and family.
Activities will include crafts, dressing up, sing-a-longs, performances and dance! Afternoon teas are also available to book to enjoy on the day at the Mercury Theatre Cafe.
